KID templates
In accordance with EU legislation, structured securities are packaged retail and insurance-based investment products (PRIIPs) to which the PRIIPs Regulation has applied since 1 January 2018. This Regulation stipulates the provision of a Key Information Document (KID) for PRIIPs.
However, the PRIIPs Regulation does not apply to unpackaged (plain vanilla) products, such as fixed-interest and step-up bonds. These are subject to the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG), which stipulates the provision of a securities information sheet (Wertpapier-Informationsblatt) or a product information sheet (Produktinformationsblatt).
The BSW provides templates for Key Information Documents for all categories of the BSW Product Classification, as well as for selected sub-categories. This information is intended to enable potential investors to quickly grasp the relevant facts about a financial product and compare it with other products.
In our BSW Product Classification you can also find concise descriptions of the most important structured securities.
