The BSW also represents the interests of its members in a European and international context, and contributes its expertise constructively to the EU legislative process through submissions, statements, and discussions.
To this end, the BSW is in regular contact with a wide range of European associations representing the banking sector and is a member of the European umbrella association EUSIPA (eusipa.org). EUSIPA represents the interests of issuers of structured securities in Europe and brings together the national associations from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
EUSIPA advocates an attractive and fair regulatory framework for structured securities and provides cross-market expertise as a point of contact for policymakers and the European Securities and Markets Authority. The association is regularly involved in the European Commission’s regulatory initiatives as they are negotiated by the European Council and the European Parliament, and issues position papers on all issues that are important for issuers of structured securities in Europe, at both the European and national levels.
Outside the European network, the BSW maintains contact with other international associations and participates in committees and events of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), where discussions are held with important supervisory authorities from around the world.
